There are sometimes to a specific time of the year events happening in Hunt Showdown

Solo Event August 2018

At the end of August 2018 the first live event started. It lasted one week in total.

The rewards were as followed: Top 50: 3500 in-game Dollars

Top 10: 3500 in-game Dollars, custom Hunter name for a single Hunter

Top 5: 3500 in-game Dollars, custom Hunter name for a single Hunter, 3 weapons of choice (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small) , 3 consumables of choice, 3 tools of choice, and 50 points worth of traits

Top 3: All of the rewards available to the top 5 players, as well as +1 prestige level

Halloween 2018

On that halloween the butcher had a pumpkin instead of a pig head.

Christmas 2018

During Christmas 2018 there were some Christmas trees scattered around the map. Some [Book of Monsters|AI] had festive accessoires and the Spider and Butcher had some accessoires as well. The Cash Registers were disguised as presents

Halloween 2020

In the Halloween Event 2020 the player can earn event exclusive skins and some items. In total can be 1500 points earned. On the first day a Points cap is set at 200 Pumpkin points. On the second day there is a cap at 600 Pumpkin points. On day three the points cap at 1000. After the fourth day the max amount of 1500 Pumpkin points can be earned.

Description

On Halloween, the veil between the worlds thins, stretches, and transforms, causing many strange occurrences and apparitions. The barriers that protect us against the darkness are weakened, and on All Hallows’ Eve - and the days surrounding it - the influence of the Sculptor is particularly strong. Hunters have reported strange hallucinations and visions, deadly apparitions, and a sudden abundance of pumpkins… 

But we Hunters are no strangers to the otherworldly. And so we claim this dark time as our own, and celebrate with mischief and pranks. But it is a game of the Devil’s roulette - yes, sweetened by rewards from the AHA, as is tradition, of course - but the fun masks the truth but temporarily. The life of a Hunter is brutal and short, and we must take our pleasure where we can find it. Halloween is a dangerous time - cold, dark, and unforgiving - but a rewarding one.

Blood & Ice: The Hunt Winter Event

This event ran from December 16th to December 30th 2020. In the Christmas Event 2020 the player can earn event exclusive skins and some items. In total can be 10.000 points earned. On the first day a Points cap is set at 200 Event points. On the second day there is a cap at 400 Event points. On day three the points cap at 600. And on day four the cap is at 1000 Event points. After the fourth day the max amount of 10.000 Event points can be earned.

Description

Come, Hunter, stop and warm your hands at our hearth awhile. Let us lend you courage with gifts befitting the season! In contrast to that infamous storm of February past, New Orleans has yet to see snow this season. But to face the corruption that plagues the bayous is to feel the icy, tendrilled hand of death penetrate sense and soul. You know of what I speak.

However, Winter's bounty is plentiful for those who know where to find it - and what to do with it. You have fought long and hard throughout this long, dark time, dear Hunter, and as we turn the page of the year we hope we can begin a new chapter of success and glory for the American Hunter's Association. You have fought long and hard, and earned a spot of mischief and a cup of hearty cheer. May the season's delights warm your spirits, though if they do not, a little gold should do the trick.

I Am the Lullaby
The rumors began at the same time that he appeared. Some said that Death had begun to wander the Bayou, felling Hunters like dried grass, and taking what they left behind to add to his strange collection. Others insisted that the beaked beast had been created by the Hunters themselves, deceived into binding scrap metal to feather to old flesh bone and performing a ritual meant to grant them power - and instead summoning but more of the Sculptor's corruption. The truth, as always, is far more macabre. Macabre - and banal, like so much of the evil in this world. It started with the appearance of the birds, followed by small models and statues, and the rest... Well, the rest you will have to see for yourself.

Light the Shadow

This event ran from August 25th to September 22nd 2021.

Description

They have been watching you, Hunters. They've seen every victory and defeat at the hands of the bayou. Heard of every monster you have had to face; human or otherwise. While they admit they're impressed by the work you've done these past few years, they're finally ready to show you what they can do.

Native American Hunters are entering the Bayou and with them the Light the Shadows Event! To celebrate their arrival, Hunters will get to travel two paths to earn Legendary weapons, Blood Bonds, Hunt Dollars, and the chance for two Legendary Native American Hunters to join your ranks. Which route will you take first: The Path of the Hunting Bow or the Path of the Throwing Axe? The choice is yours and the rewards are bountiful. If you manage to finish the first path you choose, you can return and travel the second.

Path One: Pierce the Shadow

Many say the Hunting Bow is as old as humanity. Lovingly crafted by deft hands trained by generations, the bow will rarely fail you in a fight, and its arrows might even find their way back to you. By choosing the Path of the Hunting Bow first, and destroying your targets with this old faithful weapon, you'll earn special ammo like the Concertina Arrows, traits like Hundred Hands, and recruit Legendary Hunter “The Exile." Complete this path before the end of the event and you'll have the opportunity to take the Path of the Throwing Axe.

Path Two: Cleave the Shadow

What better marriage of metal and wood than an axe? Take aim, take a breath, and throw so you can watch it spin through the air and bite into its target. Throwing axes are sold in pairs, so the discerning Hunter can send a barrage death towards their enemies. By choosing the Path of the Throwing Axe first, and destroying targets with its gleaming blade, you'll earn Hunt Dollars, traits like Assailant, and recruit Legendary Hunter “The Third Son." Complete this path before the end of the event and you'll have the opportunity to take the path of the Hunting Bow.

The Harvest

This event ran from October 29th to November 9th 2021.

Description

Mischief and play dance in the air as the trees begin to fall asleep and the nights grow cooler. Something has begun to grow in the earth and sprout to entice all who look upon it. Devils and apparitions till the soil and nurture the plants for their fiendish schemes and it is all but assured that when it is time to pick the bounty that evil has grown, all will suffer by their tricks.

Hunters have reported feeling strange around the gourds that have popped up around the Hunt. They’re said to draw you in and whisper delights into your ear. The yellow pumpkins beg to be destroyed; to be trampled and shot and sliced until they are nothing but feed for crows. Some have come back feeling strange after encountering those yellow pumpkins, that their odd, sweet scent makes them lose themselves in joy and pleasure and when they wake up hours may have gone by. The AHA originally wanted Hunters to avoid pumpkins at all costs but more began to grow and the Hunt became perilous. So, there is only one thing to do: Get rid of them all as quickly as possible.

It is once again that time of year hunters: Halloween has come so The Harvest has begun! From now until the 9th of November, you'll have the chance to unlock exclusive equipment themed around the eerie season. To get the gear, you'll need to collect special Event Points, which you can do by heading into the bayou and:

• Destroying pumpkins scattered through the map (2 Event Points)
• Destroy Pumpkins near the Spider and the Assassin’s Lairs (2 Event points)
• Destroy Scrapbeak’s dropped pumpkins (2 Event Points)
• Destroying scarecrows (3 Event Points)
• Loot Hunter Corpses (4 Event Points)
• Destroying the Butcher's pumpkin head (6 Event points)

Want to rack up more points during each Hunt? A Wormseed Shot will do just the trick. Equip a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Wormseed Shot in Bounty Hunt, and use one to increase the amount of Event Points earned in that match by 15%, 25%, and 50% respectively. As a bonus, each Wormseed Shot will allow you to see event items in Dark Sight at greater distances: With Bronze allowing you to see 5m farther, Silver 10m farther, and Gold 15m farther with a cap of 70m. Need more? Buy them in the store using Blood Bonds. Using more than one will multiply the effect, and the effect will also apply to any Hunters on your team – so get your friends together and really rake in the points! Just for launching Hunt at least once during the event, you'll receive one Bronze Wormseed Shot.

Winter Solstice

This event ran from December 15th 2021 to January 5th 2022.

Description

This is a special time for many. The trees begin to sleep, and some mammals go into hibernation. Birds fly to warmer places and the nights grow cooler. The Wheel of the Year grows closer to finishing its cycle and that means celebration is at hand.

There is no doubt that things have been hard. Every single person here has had to fight demons both within and outside of themselves. Every death seen, every life taken, every battle fought has had us running on that Wheel just so we could reach its end. And here we are ever closer to another year wiser with breath filling our lungs and blood still pumping in our veins despite everything. Despite everything that's happened we are alive, and we can still fight, and God be damned if that isn't worth celebrating.

That's probably why they came here to New Orleans, those men shrouded in cloak and wreath. They called themselves kings and gave us the means to bring festivities to the bayou and forget it all for a while. But it wasn't free, nothing ever is, and now we must pay or else the Wheel will break.

For 21 days, earn 10,000 points or more to celebrate the Winter Solstice and earn rewards sure to light up this sacred time of year. Head to those familiar hunting grounds around Louisiana and earn Event Points by:

Introducing Mr. Orwell Chary and the Chary Contracts

We don't know where he came from exactly, just that he came with the cold. One day he appeared in the AHA headquarters and said that he was here to help, if you're willing to pay the price… Premiering in the Winter Solstice event are Chary's Contracts : Bind your fate in Mr. Orwell's special ink and he'll guarantee that you get a percentage boost to your Event Points for a certain amount of time depending on which contract you sign. Mr. Chary also guarantees that entering a contract with him will allow you to see Event Items in Dark Sight farther than normal. And while it will not increase boost percentage or distance in dark sight, you can enter multiple contracts with Mr. Orwell to extend your boost time.

Traitor's Moon: The Dark is Rising

This event ran from March 24th to April 14th 2022. Bad in the Bayou Rises with the Moon could be unlocked with progression in the event.

Description

Every full moon, her immortal light would fall on New Orleans, and the crickets and fireflies would dance in the spotlight. But just as the Moon has dictated the turn of tides for millennia, the Sculptor began to dictate the Moon's influence on Earth. The Moon's light cast a spotlight onto people whose hearts were already starting to become twisted by the Sculptor. Mother caused harm to child, brother betrayed brother, and others let their minds wander into madness and desperation. Those who knew the power of both the Sculptor and the Moon began to plot and use the twisting of people's hearts to their advantage."

Hunters, we sit between the passing of the Worm Moon and the rise of the Pink Moon. And down on the killing fields of Louisiana, the changing of the seasons from winter to spring sees a new rising darkness. Effigies, rifts, and strange clues are brought forth across the bayou under the influence of a Traitor's Moon, along with story and secrets about My Chary's ambitions for manipulating the corruption… But at this time of year, hope springs eternal too, and light can be found in the bountiful rewards on offer for those Hunters ready to face and conquer new challenges during the 21 days of The Traitor's Moon Event.

Serpent Moon

This event ran from July 27th to September 26th 2022. A Serpent's Kiss and Serpent Moon Story were released in conjunction with the event.

Description

The Moon, in all her glory, was never meant to be a victim. She was all powerful and worshiped by many, and in return she imbued her flock and the earth with her mighty light. She was cleansing for some and a trigger for others but overall, she was beloved. But that cursed thing showed up, and with it that cursed man. They used her; they took and took and took until she was only a shadow of her true self. She had called to many for aide, pulling them in from the reflections of rivers and even by the pond and the willow, but none of them stuck.

"Until Kevin, the sweet boy, heard her pleas and joined her side. Now she watches, and waits, and hopes for an end to Mr. Orwell Chary. So that she can return to her former position and imbue the world once more.

"But that's not going to happen, is it Hunter? The rewards are too good, and there's work to be done. A full moon rises over the bayou once more, and with it more tasks to be done. Join Mr. Chary under the Serpent Moon and earn rewards to better the Hunt. "

The Serpent Moon Live Event brings a supernatural infestation of snakes to the bayou. Deadly serpents appear in snake dens throughout the bayou, and it's down to you to capture snakes and sacrifice them on altars. However, these snakes will attack you if you make too much noise on your approach, so you must balance the reward of greater event points, and greater rewards, for looting and sacrificing snakes against a lower amount of event points for simply destroying them. To help you, you can equip three Event Traits. "Beastface" reduces the reaction range of snakes allowing you to get closer. "Serpent" increases the distance at which snake sacrifices can be made, and "Poison Sense" will identify nearby poisoned players when using Dark Sight. You will also be rewarded for investigating event clues and rifts, eliminating bosses and looting Hunter corpses.

Introducing Viper

"The Viper grew up the middle child of a pair of merchants. The chaos and confusion of the markets often overwhelmed them, which caused wordless tantrums in the middle of their parents' work. It wasn't until The Viper met Delara, a snake born to the Steppes, that they were able to remain calm and begin to speak their first words at seven. It was their play with Delara in the market that eventually drew their mentor to them. It only took a bit of convincing and coin for the child and snake to be taken away from their family and led to the dying Order of Assassins.

"The Viper was trained to trust three things: Their mentor, their snake Delara, and their ability to kill. Soon enough there was no oasis or refuge from their poison and blades, and despite vowing that they would never speak a word unless absolutely necessary, their actions spoke loud enough.

"It was this indiscriminate terror that cast its shadow over the Middle East, only answering to The Sinners who delivered their targets and money. They felt nothing even when their mentor passed, and they had to kill the innocent: Until they realized Delara was dying.

"The two had grown together, learned to kill together, and learned to survive. But a Steppe Viper only lives twenty years and with the dangers they faced together they had shortened her life span. The overwhelming panic that the Viper felt in the markets of their childhood bubbled up at the thought of being without her, and even as Delara gently coiled around their neck they didn't feel reassured.

"And then the call came from far off for a job. From a man named Mr. Chary who just needed to get rid of a young man. In return, the man would give the Viper the secret to extending Delara's life. Too tempted by the call, the Viper got on the first boat they could to New Orleans."

This campaign ran from October 12th to October 20th 2022.

Halloween 2022 Questline

This questline was available from October 26th to November 9th 2022.

Description

During the Halloween event, you'll be challenged to smash pumpkins that populate the Bayou, and you'll have to confront fan-favorite boss, The Butcher, adorned with a pumpkin head! You'll need to draw upon all your skills to dodge The Butcher's fireballs and his horrifying hook…

You must complete six Acts, each featuring different Quests, to finish the Questline. Great rewards are up for grabs, including “Mama Maye," a new Legendary Hunter, and a "Skull Effigy" Weapon Charm! And there are also four Legacy Legendaries ("Skeleton Key" Heavy Knife; "Scapula" Romero 77 Hatchet; "Bone Shard" Caldwell Pax Claw; "Backbone" Vetterli 71 Karabiner Bayonet) up for grabs too. Get your scary squad together and smash through those Quests (and pumpkins) to unlock all the rewards on offer...

The in-game store has also been stocked with some seasonal favorites for the duration of the event. The Halloween-themed weapons, tools, and more available for a limited time only include the Legacy Legendaries listed above, plus those from the 2021 Halloween Event (The Harvest): Caldwell Rival 78 "The Marwood", Mosin-Nagant M1891 Obrez Mace "Closed Casket", Combat Axe "The Executioner", and Legendary Hunter "The Headsman".

Devil's Moon

This event ran from December 14th 2022 to February 15th 2023. Devil's Moon Story could be unlocked with progression in the event.

Devil's Moon introduced three Pacts that a hunter could individually join. Each Pact had unique traits that lasted for the duration of the event. To join a pact, you must earn a Pledge Mark. Once your Event Points cross a certain threshold you can earn a Pledge Mark. Choosing a Pact can be done at Pledge Posts around the map, which replace the existing supply points. These Pledge Posts have 3 Ballot Boxes, each relating to a specific Pact; Lunar Pact, Infernal Pact and Grounded Pact. Once pledged, that Hunter has made their choice and must stay with their chosen Pact until Death. Hunters can pledge twice to the same Pact, each time rewarding a new, powerful Trait.

Each time a Pledge Mark is gained it will also be rewarded across the team. All 3 sources can only be gained once per mission.

• Reaching the Event Point (EP) Threshold - Gaining 35 EP for the first time will reward 1 Pledge Mark.
• Looting your first Hunter – Only the first Hunter looted will give 1 Pledge Mark, all loots after this will only give Event Points.
• Banishing your first Boss - Only the first Banish will give 1 Pledge Mark, banishing the second boss will only give Event Points.

The Infernal Pact

"Mr. Chary, was rich. Mr. Chary was powerful. And Mr. Chary had given out a lot of favors. When the time came to choose a side, many stayed with the AHA for the money, for the power, and to clear their debts. Some stayed because they had a history with the association, and others stayed because they refused to fight by the side of their enemies. Mr. Chary assured all that they would be paid handsomely for their loyalty, and his word was as good as gold.”

• Fire Eater (1 PM) - In exchange for 1 Pledge Mark, when a health chunk is burnt away, it is instead instantly restored.
• Flame Touched (4 PM)- If you have 4 Pledge Marks, you can't catch on fire even when downed, but your health chunks still burn at a slower rate while in flames.
• Salveskin (Conditional effect) - Increases the regeneration speed of partially burned health chunks. (Hunter must be Pledged to Infernal Pact.)

The Lunar Pact

“No one really knew what was going on with Chary and the AHA. They just knew it wasn't right. They kept their heads down until a boy and a nun approached them. The boy and the nun were quick to tell folks the truth of the matter: The old AHA was gone, and what Chary was doing with it would cause all of Louisiana to sink into Hell and The Sculptor's Hands. The nun and the boy begged for aid to stop Chary, and many ignored the call. But just a few, with guilt and a sense of justice gnawing at their heart, came to help the boy.”

• Relentless (1 PM) - In exchange for all Pledge Marks, your Hunter doesn't lose a health chunk when downed.
• Indomitable (4 PM)- If you have 4 Pledge Marks, health regenerates continuously until fully healed.
• Resilience (Conditional effect) - Your Hunter is revived with up to full health. (Hunter must be Pledged to Lunar Pact.)

The Grounded Pact

“Many observed the chaos for a while and decided that it just wasn't for them. What need did they have for Chary's riches? What need did they have for Kevin's promise of a better future? They all had their reasons for joining the Hunt, and nothing would deter them from their path. So, they would watch, and they would fight, and they would do things like they always did. Nothing would bother them, and if something tried, they would put them in their place with bullets like always.”

• Death Cheat (1 PM)- In exchange for all Pledge Marks, you will not lose your Hunter if you fail to extract.
• Shadow (4 PM) - If you have at least 4 Pledge Marks, monsters can't see you but they still can hear you.
• Necromancer (Conditional effect) - When playing Solo, you can revive your downed Hunter. (Hunter must be Pledged to Grounded Pact.)

Soul Traps

Soul Traps are the event objects spawned in the world for Devil’s Moon. Like previous events, these objects can reward Hunters with Event Points. Active interaction with a Soul Trap will give the most Event Points and is also the quietest method. However, they can also be destroyed, in exchange for less points. This results in an explosion which, after a short fuse time, deals moderate damage to nearby Hunters, with the potential to leave them bleeding. Soul Traps glow red and produce a sound in the same manner as a Clue, when enemy Hunters or Beetles are nearby. The detection range is also the same as a Clue.

• Interaction - 6 EP and the Soul Trap is used up.
• Destruction – 3 EP and the Soul Trap explodes, damaging anything in the vicinity.

The Inferno

On select days during the event “The Inferno” will be unleashed to set parts of the maps on fire. When this happens, you must find new ways to hunt as flames rage in different sections of the maps. How will you hunt when the heat is on?

Challenges

Replacing Summons for this event, you will get a new set of weekly challenges. The challenges each feature “reward milestones,” giving you stars, which will, in turn, be converted to Event Points. There are four categories of increasingly difficult tasks, ranging from low-hanging fruit that will reward you with one star, to skill-based challenges that will reward you with two stars for each completed task. Complete challenges throughout the week, earn the stars, get your Event Points, and then take on the next set of challenges.
